snow

I do not like the snow. Although I somethings about snow I mostly do not like it. I like to throw snow balls and that is about all I like about snow. I do not like shoveling snow, driving in snow, and the cold. Shoveling is not that bad it just takes a while and when there is a lot of snow it can get really heavy. Driving in the snow is slow and dangerous. a lot of cars slip around. The cold is always not so good with me. Also all the ice that form everywhere from snow melting. I have a friend who lives in Michigan and he likes the snow. I think he is crazy. I hope one day to move to a place where it does not snow. Oh and i don't mind the occasional snow day for school.

cooking cookies

Well i am not a very good cooker, backer, or anything that has to do with cooking. But yesterday I wanted some chocolate chip cookies. So I look up a recipe online because I had no idea how to make them. I got all the ingredients and started to cook. Well first i think i switched sail with sugar. That made them taste weird. when i put them in the oven I split them in two batched in case I messed one up. I did of course the fist batch I put in I burned. but the second was good cooked. But because I switched sugar for salt they tasted bad. After all that work and failing at cooking i gave up and cleaned up. Since i still wanted some cookies I waited for my mom to get home and asked her to make some cookies and she did. They were good.

Talent

Day One: As I set here in my room, on the UFO, wondering why I was one of the few people in the world chosen to travel to this planet? As I wait to arrive I keep hoping my family is safe. Also I keep thinking about how I got here.

Earlier today I was at my home watching T.V. and a news alert came on and said, “Warning could be dangerous outside.” Of course I did not know what that meant so I went outside to check. What I saw I will never forget. It was silver flying machines unlike anything made on this planet. They were round like a plate and had lights all around it. Not just 1 or 2 flying machines but hundreds. As I look at them I immediately knew they where UFOs of some alien race. Although they did not seem to be doing any harm I knew they could if they wanted to. Then I saw one land and put something on the ground. After they put it on the ground they all left in the blink of an eye.  As the day went on the event was all over the internet and the T.V. My wife came home from her work and brought home our daughter from school. When my wife walked in she said, “Hey Dave did you see those UFOs in the sky.” I said, “Yes but I do not know what it was about.” Then my daughter came running in giving me a hug asking me if “The UFOs where going to hurt us.” I said, “No, no of course not I won’t let them hurt us.” Just as I finished telling her that I heard a knock on the door. I went to the door and opened it there were two guys. One asked me if I was “Dave Walz.” I said, “Yes I am how may I help you.” Then out of no where they grab me and told me I must come with them. I tried to break away but they were to strong and put me in there car. Before they took me to who knows where, I saw my wife and daughter and I waved to them good by hoping I would see them again. In the car I asked them were they are taking me. One said, “You have been chosen in a select group.” I replied back “What kind of group.” He answered back “Please no more question until we get to where we get there.” As we arrived I saw a UFO on the ground and I thought that must have been what the aliens dropped, but why? Then as I got out of the car I was taken to a room and was asked to wait for the meeting to start. More and more people came into this room. About 20 minuets later a person came into the room, and started talking to us. At first I could not tell who it was but then I realized it was the president, George Hilton. He said, “Most of you have seen the UFOs in the sky today. But what you may not know is that a UFO was left behind with a note. The note left behind tells us the aliens plan on attacking us unless we come to there planet and talk to them. The note also tells us how to fly there UFO. Right now we have to pilots working on flying it. But for the few people here you have been chosen by the aliens. We believe each of you have a special talent to help communicate with the aliens. We will be leaving in about one hour from now. If our pilots are correct the trip will take about one day. Once there you must do everything in your power to keep our earth save. I will not be traveling with you because I must stay in case of an attack to help the United States and the world defended against the aliens. I believe in you, our country believes in you, and our world believes in you.  It is up to you few to save our world from control of the alien race. Good luck.” After the speech I did not see why I was chosen because I did not see any talent that I had. As the hour came up we interred the UFO. It was very warm and rooms everywhere. The whole UFO was red inside. As the pilot showed us our rooms, we came to my room. My room was just a square room with a blanket, a pillow, and a light in it. It looks like someone just put it in there just to have something. They also gave me this notebook and a pen. They told me it is so I do not get bored. About 45 minuets later they started the UFO and we took off to this new planet. Every couple of hours someone brought around a sandwich to eat. As I set here I keep wondering what talent I have and if my family is save. The only talents I could think of having was my small experience in the military or my experience as an engineer. It has been a long day so I should be getting to bed I will write again tomorrow, hopefully.

Day two: As I woke up I did not know what to expect. Getting closer and closer to the planet not knowing when we would be there. Every minuet making me more nerves than the last one. Still wondering what my talent is. The time came sooner than later when we landed on there planet. We all had to wear space suits. When we all got our space suits on we all went out on this new planet. It looked almost like another earth but more technologic. They had items that seemed thousands of years more advanced than us. Upon our arrival we were greeted with an alien. The alien said. “Hello we have been expecting you. We want to talk.” The alien took us to this building that was at least 200 stories high. The alien was looked almost exactly like humans just few differences. The aliens were taller than most humans about 7-8 feet tall on average. They had a long tail and had purple skin tone. We entered and went to a room. In the room there were two other aliens. The alien on the left looked like the leader or president. He started talking. “Welcome to our planet, Valcomelia. In our note we chose each of you for a talent we like. Our planet is interning war with another planet. We have been observing your plants war. Although you technology I weak, your planet knows how to fight wars. That is why we have come to your planet to aid us in battle. In our note we choose each of you because you have special war talent.” As the speech keep going they explained to us all there weapons and personal. We told them we would be glad to help them. After the meeting was over I went over and asked why me, why was I chosen? They said, “You were chosen for your mind, you are not afraid to ask, find out, and fix the problem. We saw this in your military career.” I though what he said, I soon realized he was right. I do find out and fix things. But when I got to thinking more I started thinking about my family. So I asked him how long we would be staying here. The alien said, “You all will be staying here until the war is over. This could take days or a couple of years.” I asked him if my family was safe. He said, “Yes and we will be bringing your family later in the week.” I became happy and even more willing to help.

Later: As the war went on it became more visible of my talent. I used my talented to help win wars by finding out what they had and learning how to stop the enemy. I learned more about these alien as a kind also. They are very similar to our human race. They have family and kids, the kids go to school, they have jobs, a money system, and many more things similar. I find they are the same just have more advanced in technology. This made me think how close everything advances and how close things turn out in the end. I was able to see my family everyday which was good. My daughter even made a friend on this planet. After two years of war between the planets a treaty was made and we were able to go back to Earth.

Camping

On Friday at 5:30 to Sunday at 12 I was out camping. It was fun but cold. I did not get that much sleep because at night it was cold. I had a fire so i got warm there. during the day it was not that cold but still cold. on the camp out i cooked a lot , played games, and sat around. i cooked with some friends. i cook but cutting up a lot a vegetables. the games we played were football, soccer, and other random games. we sat around the fire a lot and talked a lot. now i am going to sleep for a little bit then finish my homework. Camping is fun to do but i wish it was warmer.

What I like

I really like it when it rains. I like the sound, the smell, and the felling of rain. I am not sure exactly what it is about rain i just love it. I live the rain but I do not like standing out in the rain. I also like learning crazy and fun words to say. like the word synesthesia. I like hot weather also. I do not like snow and the cold. I plan on moving somewhere warm when i get older, somewhere it does not snow. I also like learning new things I think it is really cool to learn something new. I really like learning something in Biology, my favorite subject. Biology changes so much and so fascination how everything works. like lisining to music

football

I watched a lot of football this weekend. the first game a watch was Michigan v. Illinois. this was a good game it went to triple overtime. there was a lot of offense in this game and Michigan came out on top. then i watched Arizona v. Stanford. this was not the best game Stanford came in and took out Arizona. I also watched a lot of other games near the end most we big blowouts of the teams. the next day i watch the Browns v. Patriots. The Browns won this game by 20 points. right now i am watch the Colts v. Eagles. so far it has been a good game. the score is 14-16 Eagles on top. I just saw a person get hurt by helmet to helmet. so i hope he gets better and will still be able to play.

How Creative is Creativity

“Creativity is contagious. Pass it on.” — Albert Einstein

Creativity is important to the world in advancing and progressing. For example in 1949 popular mechanics said "Computers in the future may weigh no more than 1.5 tons.” But today you can easily carry one around. This happened because some one had the creativity in computers. Lord Kelvin, president of Royal Society, 1895 said, "Heavier-than-air flying machines are impossible." But now today we have airplanes form the creativity of the Wright brothers. I believe that everyone needs to be creative so the world can advance into something better.

Sometimes people call creative ideas crazy or impossible. There was one time I had an idea and someone called it crazy. I knew my idea would work so I stuck with it. It was when I was in a competition and I had to make something to hold a 30 pound weight for the longest time given materials to use.  I created something that was different from everybody else. Other people called it “crazy and wont work.” I told them that “I think my project will work.” When the competition was over I won. So now I believe that creativity is important to advancing the world.

If you have an idea stick with it because what would the world be like if Karl Benz did not stick with his idea of a car or if Benjamin Franklin did not stick with his idea of electricity? Because of these and so many more people who are creative and stuck with there ideas the world has become what it is today. Even if it is something small like adding an extra ingredient to a recipe to see if it makes it better. You were creative enough to do it and wonder.

If you have something creative and different share it. It could be the next big thing. Everything starts somewhere from some creative person. To be creative you do not have to do it alone. Sharing and researching an idea with more people only makes an idea better. A lot of creative inventors and people did it with the help of others. It is always good to get help from other people. Looking up what other people have done to help you with your discoveries is good, so you do not have to test for something already done.

With creativity comes pressure. People can and will put down your ideas. But you have to be able to say “no” to them and say “I can do it and I will do it.” A person can take any idea as far as that person is willing to take it. I  This I believe creativity is contagious. Pass it on.

break

Over this break i had a good time. i went and saw the movie "RED" with some of my friends. it was a good movie. i got a new wallet. it is black with checkered pattern. also it is a front pocket wallet. That is what the store person said. I did my homework. also i got my eagle scout award. that was fun to do and get my award. i got a flag flown over the nations capital which was cool. also today in the city of Gahanna, Oct. 17 is Jacob Mauger day which is cool. i had a good break.

football

this week I went to two football games. the first game i went to was the Ohio state game they played Indiana . i sat in the first row near the one yard line. they were good seats only i could not see one half of the field. but it was a good game they won. the next day i went to the browns game. they played the Falcons. i had suite seats. they were good and got a lot of free food. the browns lost though. but Ohio state won so i had a good time. the games i went to were with my cousin and his dad and my grandpa. my cousin are from Seattle so i do not see them much and my grandpa lives about 2 hours away. but this week i had a good time at both games.

running

Today i ran 5 miles. I usually run 3-8miles a day. I also run a lot of 5 and 10ks. It was cold. i usually run through out my neighborhood. but some times i run in different parks. i have been running for about 1 year now. i am not on the track of cross country team because i only run for fun. i also run all year around out site. i do not like running on the treadmills. When i run on a  treadmill i fell like i am trapped. also i like the view and fresh air out side. My favorite place to run is along the beach. I did this when i went to Florida for 2 weeks. I ran almost everyday. All though it is a little rough on your feet it is still vary fun. running is fun and i will keep doing it for years to come.

Apple Festival

Over the weekened i went to the apple festival. This festival was in Jackson, Ohio. The fair was ok there was games, rides, and food. I tried a deep fried oreo for the first time. It was good. I rode some rides. My favorite was this one that spun around making to stick on the wall. On saterday night there was a praid. The praid had the samethings over and over again. They where bands, state repreninitives, and pagent winners. So the praid was not that good because it was the same things. But overall i had a good time.

Special Relativity

Albert Einstein came up with the theory of special relativity. This theory is important today. Realitiviy say objects can not move faster than the speed of light relative to space. This is how objects are relativie to how everything moves. This means that if you are standing still you are going 0mph. If the theory of special relativity did not exsist you would be moving very fast. This is because the earth spins about 1 million mph around the sun, the sun spins around the galexy really fast, and our galexy spins around the universe very fast. So techinly you are moving when you are standing still. The theory of special relativity makes it reletave so you say you are not moving. It also states that the speed of light is the same for all observers. This means the speed of light will be the same everytime. An intersting fact about this is if you could travel at the speed light you would not eperince time at all.

Ohio State V.S. Maimi

I thought ohio state did good aginst maimi but there were things that needed to be improved to become one of the best teams. Ohio state needs to improve on special teams. Maimi had two touchdowns on special teams. Ohio state did block a kick though. Also on the short yard passing. I saw a lot of short yard passing balls droped. Sometimes it was the quaterbacks through, other times it was the reciver droping the pass. Ohio State did have good things done as well. Ohio states deffinence was great as was the running game. Over all ohio state had a good game but still has a lot of work to do.
